Kendall Hancock scored the key goal that sparked the UHA Lady Blazers to win against Graves County at the Lady Tigers Showcase on Saturday at the Stadium of Champions.
Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors won a second straight All A regional volleyball title with a two-set win over Caldwell County and earlier sweeps over Livingston Central and Fort Campbell on a busy weekend.
The team will open the state tournament Friday at 6:45 p.m. at the Owensboro Convention Center.
Madisonville North Hopkins and Hopkins County Central volleyball teams competed Saturday morning at Central in the 2A sectional round; both teams lost their matches but each won the third set, and they will face each other on Monday in Mortons Gap.
On Saturday the Lady Tigers won 2-0 against Mayfield at the Stadium of Champions to secure their second straight win — with Carlie Hobson scoring and Kaydon Coats assisting while Kaylynn Schwartz made seven saves.
They will meet University Heights Academy in a District 8 match on Thursday.
